Men in Rope

  • Daruma Neukölln, Berlin Germany (map)

with Male Shibari and Cons

Join us for a weekend all about tying male bottoms with Male Shibari & Cons!

“The way I see it, there are many fascinating styles in Japanese-inspired bondage, which historically have been perfected for the female body. I very much like to tie men who, from an anatomical perspective, differ significantly from women in their skin and muscular structure and are usually not that flexible. My general goal is not to implement a style, but to adapt a session, a harness, a suspension / transition as well as possible to the person I am tying. For me, the essence, the actual driving force of Kinbaku/Shibari is the erotic energy. Visual, aesthetic and energetic aspects also play a major role.” —Male Shibari

Workshop content includes:

  • 2 / 3 TK

  • Tenshis

  • 1 / 2 rope Futomomo

  • Mermaid tie

  • Monoblock/Halfbasket

  • Winding a fundoshi (traditional Japanese underwear)

  • (Possibly, in close consultation with the group:) simple ball/penis bondage

  • Entry into the male predicament

  • Talk about masculine aesthetics in rope

  • Frank is a rigger and photographer, based in Hamburg, Germany.

You can view more of Frank’s work at his website: www.male-shibari.art and instagram: @male_shib

  • Cons has been in love with ropes for as long as he can remember. But his journey only really started when he first came in touch with the work of Male_Shibari which  impacted him deeply. Since then he has continuously sought to explore his passion further, which sometimes makes him feel as if walking through an endless series of rooms, where one open door will only lead to another opening up. He is extremely grateful that his relationship with Male_Shibari is thereby the remaining constant, the red ribbon running through his life, with Male_Shibari lighting up the torch to light up the path. In ropes he feels that he can truly be himself, and ropes allow him to discover and access spaces that before he did not know were there. What he finds in these spaces is what he seeks to express as a rope model - pure, sincere and direct.

  • Riggers of all genders are welcome.

Models: This workshop focuses primarily on tying the features commonly associated with male anatomy: e.g. larger or more muscular shoulders, less flexibility, etc.

Models do not need to be cisgender men, but please note that this workshop will also showcase/discuss/appreciate masculine aesthetics in ropes.

  • For the person tying
Must know a suspension safe 2-TK (stemless), and be capable of safe handling of uplines on bamboo. Rigger should be able to communicate well with their model. A rope set with at least 8-12 ropes of different lengths, at least three of them 10m long, is highly recommended.

    For the person being tied
Should have experience with suspensions and should be able to communicate well with their rigger.
